SMA is an acronym for Sub Miniature version A and was developed in the 1960's. It uses a threaded interface. 50 ohm SMA connectors are semi-precision, subminiature units that provide excellent electrical performance from DC to 18 GHz.

Built in accordance with MIL-C-39012 and CECC 22110/111, SMA connectors can be mated with all connectors that meet these spec mating diameters regardless of manufacturer.

The SMA design is available in crimp, clamp, solder and PCB type.  Standard SMA connector, Reverse Polarity SMA connector and Reverse Threaded SMA connector are all available.  

SMA connector is commonly assembled with Ipex MHI, MHFII, MHFIII and Hirose U.FL, H.FL, W.FL and Murata MXTK92 connector.
